THE CITY OF ENGLEWOOD

IS CONDUCTING AN EXAMINATION FOR THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER

(EEO/AA - MALE/FEMALE)

 

WHEN:          Saturday, January 7, 2012 - 9:00 a.m.  SHARP!

WHERE:       Dwight Morrow High School North Cafeteria      

 

(All Qualified Applicants must arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. to be admitted)


 

To be considered for employment each candidate must:

Ø  Be a United States Citizen at the time the examination is given.

Ø  Be between the ages of 21-34 at the time the examination is given.

(Exception for prior and/or current Police or Military service)

Ø  Pass the Assessment Process including the written and oral interviews, psychological and physical evaluations and be a top candidate for the position.

Ø  Have successfully completed at least one of the following:

·         A two-year Associates Degree program

·         Two years of active military service

·         60 college credits

·         Two years prior law enforcement experience (with a certified or accredited law enforcement agency within the last three years)

Ø  Possess a valid driver’s license with an exceptionally good driving record (license must be presented at time of application and again at test registration on 1/7/12).

Ø  Finish in top 75% of graduating class from the Police Academy to be continued as a probationary police officer.  There is an 18-month probationary period.


 

IMPORTANT:          Interested applicants can apply at Englewood City Hall,
Human Resources, 2-10 N. Van Brunt St., Englewood, NJ beginning 11/29/11 and ending 12/2/11 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Laid off officers or those who received training through alternate route can also apply on 11/28/11 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with a police diploma for verification at time of application.  Applications are available online at www.cityofenglewood.org, and all are encouraged to print and fill out the application prior to coming to City Hall.  Applications will also be available at City Hall on the above dates.  


 

Priority will be given to Englewood residents.  ENGLEWOOD RESIDENCY REQUIRED at the time of appointment.

:  A $65.00 NON-REFUNDABLE examination fee payable to the City of Englewood by Money Order or Certified Check is due at the time of application
