Englewood is proud to be Stigma-Free
Stigma-Free Zones aim to inspire public interest and open dialogues about stigma, raise awareness of the disease of mental illness/addiction and create a culture wherein residents who have the disease of mental illness/addiction feel supported by their community and neighbors and feel free to seek treatment for the disease without fear of stigma.
Stigma-Free Zones raise awareness of resources and encourage residents to engage in care as soon as the need is identified so recovery can begin, hope is inspired and tragedies are avoided.
Englewood recognized the community needs and supported the efforts of the County of Bergen in designating Englewood as a Stigma-Free Zone in July 2015.
Blue Moon Mexican Cafe is sponsoring a Community Night on December 19th, with 20% of proceeds being donated to the Englewood Municipal Alliance's Stigma-Free Program. Starting at noon, when you dine at Blue Moon, present the flyer at lunch or dinner, with take-out or delivery or with a catering order. From now until 12/19 you may purchase e-gift cards as well.
Flyers can be obtained at City Hall, the Health Department, or on Facebook
