Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 and interchange ramps
to reopen today in Englewood, Bergen County

Minor construction to continue in the weeks following the reopening

(Trenton) – The Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 and the Jones Road/Route 4 interchange ramps are scheduled to be reopened today as the bridge replacement project nears completion in Englewood, Bergen County.

Before 11:30 p.m. tonight, Friday, September 26, Jones Road southbound is scheduled to be reopened, and the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 will be restored to two-way traffic.

In addition, the ramps from Jones Road to Route 4 and the ramps from Route 4 to Jones Road are scheduled to be reopened at the same time. These ramps include:

  • Jones Road northbound to Route 4 westbound
  • Jones Road northbound to Route 4 eastbound
  • Jones Road southbound to Route 4 westbound
  • Jones Road southbound to Route 4 eastbound
  • Route 4 eastbound to Jones Road
  • Route 4 westbound to Jones Road

Minor construction items to complete the project, which may require lane and ramp closures, are expected to continue in the weeks following the reopening of the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 and the Jones Road/Route 4 interchange ramps. NJDOT will provide advanced notification of potential closures and/or detours.

The $20.7 million federally funded project replaced the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 in Englewood, Bergen County. The new bridge is approximately three feet higher to improve under-clearance issues on Route 4. Work is expected to be completed in fall 2025.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on X (Twitter) @NewJerseyDOT, on the NJDOT Facebook page, or Instagram @NewJersey.DOT.
