Route 4 lane closures tomorrow night in both directions
as bridge project nears completion in Englewood
Closures needed for final paving
(Trenton) – Route 4 is scheduled to have overnight lane closures in both directions tomorrow night as the Jones Road Bridge Replacement Project nears completion in Englewood, Bergen County.
Beginning at 9:30 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, October 3 until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 4, the right lane and shoulder on Route 4 westbound are scheduled to be closed at the Jones Road overpass.
Beginning at 11 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, October 3 until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 4, the left and center lanes on Route 4 eastbound are scheduled to be closed at the Jones Road overpass.
The lane and shoulder closures are necessary for final paving. At least one lane will be maintained on Route 4 in both directions overnight. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays.
The $20.7 million federally funded project replaced the Jones Road Bridge over Route 4 in Englewood, Bergen County. The new bridge is approximately three feet higher to improve under-clearance issues on Route 4. Work is expected to be completed in fall 2025.
