A weather advisory will develop during the overnight hours tonight until Friday night, August 9, 2024. Heavy rain and wind are expected. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning and evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Do not drive through water if you are unsure of the depth. Once vehicles become disabled, it can be extremely dangerous for you and the responders tasked with assisting you.

• Go to pseg.com/myaccount to sign up to report outages online and to check restoration progress.
• Go to pseg.com/outagecenter to check the “Outage Map,” which is updated every 15 minutes with PSE&G outage information, and to register for MyAlerts to receive text notifications.

• “Like” PSEG on Facebook and follow PSEG on Twitter @PSEGdelivers.

Stay away from downed wires:
• Downed wires should always be considered “live.” Stay at least 30 feet away from downed power lines and immediately call PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734) or 911 to report downed wires or to report a tree issue.

Other important safety notes:
• To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, do not run any gasoline-powered generators in a garage or any other enclosed space.
• If you are on life-sustaining medical equipment, ensure that you alert PSE&G in advance and notify your local police and fire departments. For more information, visit www.pseg.com/life.
• We recommend you use flashlights or battery powered lanterns over candles.
• Saturated grounds and high winds can cause trees to lean more and completely uproot.
• Turn Around Don’t Drown https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood-turn-around-dont-drown
• Never drive or walk around barriers blocking a flooded road. The road may have collapsed under the water.
• A mere 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock over an adult. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars and just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks
• It is NEVER safe to drive or walk into flood waters.
