Uniformed Division

The Uniformed Division is comprised of the largest amount of officers in the department. It includes the Patrol Bureau and Traffic Bureau. The Uniformed Division also oversees the Motorcycle Unit and Firearms Training Unit, officers from which come from all throughout the department. The Patrol Bureau is comprised of two platoons, each with two Lieutenants and four Sergeants. Each platoon consists of six squads, of up to twenty one officers. Officers work various overlapping shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days, 365 days a year, providing round-the-clock, constant coverage throughout the City of Englewood. The Patrol Bureau is the backbone of the department, handling well over 40,000 calls for service a year. Officers assigned to the Uniformed Division utilize both marked and unmarked vehicles to patrol the City, as well as enforce New Jersey traffic laws and engage in proactive policing. A great importance is placed on community service, along with crime prevention and quality of life in accomplishing our objectives. The Uniformed Division prides itself on the quality and diversity of its officers, whose collective mission is dedication and public service to Englewood residents and visitors to the City, with the safety and security of all being paramount.
